The NDAA gives more power to the military and government and President Obama at one point said would veto the bill but he has changed his mind. The event at Duarte Square at Sixth Avenue and Canal Street is scheduled for noon Saturday. The protests against economic inequality began Sept. 17 with the occupation of Zuccotti Park in lower Manhattan. Protesters were cleared out of Zuccotti on Nov. 15 and are no longer allowed to sleep there.

The fenced-in Duarte Square property is owned by Trinity Wall Street church. Church officials say they support the protesters but the property is not available to be occupied. Twenty-two protesters and journalists were arrested there after Zuccotti was cleared on Nov. 15.

Occupy Wall Street's press team says protesters may occupy the property Saturday.

Researchers from two U.S. studies reported that about half of tested samples of high-fructose corn syrup contained mercury. In a stunning move that has civil libertarians stuttering with disbelief, the U.S. Senate has just passed a bill that effectively ends the Bill of Rights in America.

The National Defense Authorization Act is being called the most traitorous act ever witnessed in the Senate, and the language of the bill is cleverly designed to make you think it doesn't apply to Americans, but toward the end of the bill, it essentially says it can apply to Americans "if we want it to.

Bill Summary & Status, 112th Congress (2011 -- 2012) | S.1867 | Latest Title: National Defense Authorization Act for.

This bill, passed late last night in a 93-7 vote, declares the entire USA to be a "battleground" upon which U.S. military forces can operate with impunity, overriding Posse Comitatus and granting the military the unchecked power to arrest, detain, interrogate and even assassinate U.S. citizens with impunity.

Even WIRED magazine was outraged at this bill, reporting:

Senate Wants the Military to Lock You Up Without Trial

...the detention mandate to use indefinite military detention in terrorism cases isn't limited to foreigners. It's confusing, because two different sections of the bill seem to contradict each other, but in the judgment of the University of Texas' Robert Chesney — a nonpartisan authority on military detention — "U.S. citizens are included in the grant of detention authority."

The passage of this law is nothing less than an outright declaration of WAR against the American People by the military-connected power elite. If this is signed into law, it will shred the remaining tenants of the Bill of Rights and unleash upon America a total military dictatorship, complete with secret arrests, secret prisons, unlawful interrogations, indefinite detainment without ever being charged with a crime, the torture of Americans and even the "legitimate assassination" of U.S. citizens right here on American soil!

He had been utilizing a Mormon cannery near his home to purchase bulk food supplies. The man that manages the facility related to him that federal agents had visited the facility and demanded a list of individuals that had been purchasing bulk food. The manager informed the agents that the facility kept no such records and that all transactions were conducted on a cash-and-carry basis. The agents pressed for any record of personal checks, credit card transactions, etc., but the manager could provide no such record. The agents appeared to become very agitated and after several minutes of questioning finally left with no information. I contacted the manager and personally confirmed this information.

*** OWS BOSTON UPDATE *** http://ping.fm/21eRX A diminished Occupy Boston encampment held its ground early Friday after police decided not to immediately enforce a midnight deadline that the mayor had set for them to leave a city square.

Two protesters were arrested after police said they moved a tent into a street and refused to move, blocking traffic. But there were no other serious confrontations between the demonstrators and supporters who gathered at the site as the deadline loomed.

Boston police Supt. William Evans told protesters that even though Mayor Thomas Menino set the deadline, he did not specify when the camp would be shut down.“We’re continuing to work with (the protesters)… and hopefully come to a good conclusion where we don’t have any confrontations and there are no arrests,” Evans told reporters.
